Realism can be very challanginig because it is require knowledge and skill, but with the right tools it is achivable. We only have a few fundamental understanding how it works.
For creating a 3 Dimentional illusion on a 2 Dimentional surface... you have to follow a few of rules of nature. The more you understand the more convencing your artwork will be , regardlees media. The wider range of shades you use the more successful the result is going to be.
You need 3 groups of shades basically (darks, medium grays, light shades) plus the highlight.
Regarding this rule Killer Silver is 3 times 2 bottles of shades plus white = 7. Offering you a darker and a lighter version of each category.
These 6 black ink shades are so versatile, they can also be used in a post-mix scenario, which increases the shade range from 6 up to 13 different values, plus the solid white ink for highlighting. This gives the artist a complete scale of gray, as if they were using pencil, to precisely and consistently achieve the fine details and distinct values that most pieces of work involve. It is details like these that artists have not been able to match – until now.
